Interludes – being those times spent ruminating between the creativity of work; times to let go a little, with less of an eye on the prize and more on pure invention and joy.
Mews Interludes #1

A proposal for joint creativity and implementation.

Participants: Sigrun Musa, Trisha Chauhan and Wenyin Jiang

Critical Reviews: Sir Peter Cook RA

To construct in Fitzroy Mews a spontaneous, sculptural, kinetic, joyful interpretation of the combined work and thoughts that dwell and ruminate in the three floors of 3FM.

The result will not be small. The available space is 7m x 7m x 7m and more. The tactile result may fill that space temporarily and kinetically, luminously, aurally, olfactorily, or some or all in combination. There are a limited number of surfaces to fix to, and so gravity, balance and artifice will play a part, as will breeze and sunshine and the involvement of creators and spectators.

The result will promote the participants, test their metal, project their ambitions and their interests, and bring wonderment to those who visit.

The result will be formally opened to invited guests in Spring 2026.

More Breaking News

Sadly, one of our enthusiastic team has flown from her push scooter and broken her wrist, and the pace of design has inevitably slowed.

Both wrist and work are now on ice, with the intention of restarting later in the year, for an installation in Spring 26.

08 July 2025

It’s early days and Sir Peter Cook comes in to proffer his learned opinion on progress, enthusiastically grabs a pen and starts participating as everyone secretly hoped he would.

He’s incorrigible that man, and a true fillip when fluid ideas need to coagulate.

Halfway through the programme and Mews Interludes #1 is settling down nicely.

Eidos, an exciting structural engineering practice, newly formed by old hands at the game of interesting structures, has joined-in to put a bit of stability into the wilder aspirations of
Sigrun, Trisha and Wenyin without compromising their vision.  And what a vision, topped with circulating satellites, grounded by scattered radio wave capturing petals, and mysteriously interwoven with a drifting cloud of communication.
Less than five weeks to go, the excitement builds…
